See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

Someone submitted this to me and I had to check to make sure they weren’t BSing… so I did my own comparisons…

Toyotaro essentially took Goku being reunited with his family, their emotions, etc… and straight up gave them to Vegeta. (And Trunks, technically). This AFTER he actually had a Vegeta healed only enough to stand literally solo TWO Fused Zamasus AND save a near-cowering Goku in the process.

I… wow. Just… wow. Never wanna hear about the anime mistreating him again, ever. That’s it.

Anyways, this was a cool debate. Don’t really see people that aren’t just throwing insults with no facts.

But hey, I DO like how the manga is going. I just wished Goku had his anger boost from Black killing his family. I do apologize for any drama or tension I created between you guys.

Yeah Goku did fuck up. Really badly. Ik, I know that. Hell, it drove my 5 year self crazy when Goku wouldn’t just sock Freeza while he was transforming, etc. It’s all stuff that you look back on.

Goku has a fair share of flaws. Like King Kai said.

I’m not distorting anything?? Kaioken x3 Goku was beating him?? I know Kaioken x2 Goku < Vegeta. No diff, Vegata would beat Goku base. I know that. And yes, he did get defeated. Why do you think he got away in his space pod? I’d Vegeta REALLY won, then everyone would be dead. But they weren’t.

He didn’t give the slightest care for Krillin, Gohan, Goku, Piccolo, or Dende for ALL that they did trying to take down Freeza. Remember, Vegeta’s only goal was getting immortality. It’s only when he realizes “Yeah, this is gonna be a bit harder than I thought” is when he NEEDS to rely on the help of the same people he tried to kill several months ago. He doesn’t deserve a moment because at the time he was still pretty evil. He was kinda using everyone else until it was a fight for his life against Freeza.

I hate shipping wars, but come on, seriously… VegeBul literally got fuck-all in DBZ, while GoChi got every moment, everywhere, every time (e.g. when Goku wakes up, after the illness, that kiss before Cell and the post-Buu reunion hug)!! So much potential VegeBul development was skipped over, in favor of GoChi and also GoDel (anyone who knows DBZ, can see that, clear as day). Is it so horrible now that they finally got something in DBS, after two freaking decades? As one of the commentators pointed out, they were in Capsule Corporation anyway, so of course Bulma’s more likely to be there than Chi-Chi. That being said, I love all the pairings (VegeBul, GoChi and GoDel).

As far as Vegeta exploding the fused Zamasus, it’s called rage power. He saw his son about to die… It isn’t the first time someone near death has been able to summon vast resources of vestigial strength, as a result of their fury. That happens quite often in Dragon Ball (e.g. one-armed Gohan destroying Cell, Goku beating Piccolo with a hole in his chest).

Let’s also keep in mind that Goku, Gohan and Trunks have achieved comprehensive victories against main antagonists. Vegeta has NEVER had that same privilege, so of course he deserves every single bit of that shine, if not more (especially considering how badly he got screwed over in ROF, after all the anticipation and Toriyama’s “intentions” to make him the hero).

I’m no Vegeta-fanatic and I understand that Goku’s the main hero, but that doesn’t mean that the anime hasn’t repeatedly fucked over Vegeta, because it has (like in DBZ, where filler bullshit is added in just to mar his character, e.g. Vegeta running away from second-form Frieza like a total bitch - OOC and never happened in the manga; far worse in DBS, where he simpers and gets on all fours before Beerus, again excessively OOC and not in the manga).

IMO The manga>>>>>anime. Better characterisation, greater consistency and more in line with canon.

And of course Vegeta fans can complain if their fav’ character has become the goddamn joke of the show (bowing, simpering and repeatedly being an overall pussy, before Beerus, which is so not himself). When does Goku ever act like a bitch, before Beerus? Yeah, that’s right never. Quite the contrary, he stands up for himself when Beerus threatens him, which is what the real, properly written Vegeta would also do.

Aw, come on guys!

I agree with @saiyanprince541!

Just let Vegebul fans get a little sweet moment, please?

Vegeta has always been mistreated in so many ways (really, when did they EVER give him a great victory?), and we’re so used to Goku always being the main hero and main character in the show that a lot of us were actually shocked to see Toyotaro finally give Vegeta a break.

Is that really such a bad thing?

There was almost no Vegebul in DBZ, just let us enjoy a little Vegeta love before they screw him over (again) in the Tournament of Power when they give Goku and Gohan yet another victory.

I see a lot of Gochi fans complain about Vegebul fans hating on them, but I look at a post like this one and I realize that’s not always the case and, sadly, it goes both ways.

We’ve always known the manga and the anime aren’t always the same, so please just let us enjoy a little Vegebul love…

Let’s all get along!

@saiyanprince541 We talked about this on Twitter already, but I’m sorry, I’m still going to have to disagree.

As a Vegebul shipper, it’s hard for me to enjoy this scene when it’s a reminder of how Goku, Chichi, and Gochi continually gets screwed over and misunderstood by the fandom and sometimes by the franchise, itself. Goku didn’t even get to learn about Goten and Chi-Chi being killed by Black. Gohan never got to meet Future Trunks, again. The side characters never showed up once, in the manga. Future Trunks had zero agency, and he never got to bond with present Trunks. Mai didn’t even get to keep her shotgun. All these great moments from the anime that even non-Super fans have enjoyed get cut in favor of Vegeta fan service? No, I’m sorry. I can’t sit back and enjoy that.

You don’t have to sacrifice Goku or Son family moments just to prop up Vegeta or Vegebul. You shouldn’t. There have been plenty of Vegebul moments in DBS and even little moments in Z and Vegeta has gotten exceptional treatment through DBS’s run - why do you need to take away from Goku or Gochi? We can have both, and I wish the fandom understood that.

kinto-nim

@sarahw-world I’m sorry, what? Are you forgetting that Vegeta is most the reason for most of the stuff happening in EACH Saga of Dragon Ball Z? Why do you think he always gets put in his place? Everyone else cleans up his mess. He taunted Freeza into transforming, he allowed Cell to enter his Perfect Form, hell, he was so obsessed with his damn pride that he allowed Buu to be revived when he could have stopped it with everyone else. Vegeta has gotten so much screen time in this arc. Smacking Black around, and then training to do it all over again. Isn’t that enough??

kinto-nim

And trust me, Vegeta is an AWESOME character! Going Super Saiyan and giving Goku the biggest fight of his life at one point are all really good moments. But his pride is his biggest flaw.

@sarahw-world Yea, Goku did all of that. Really stupid. But he did it. But you know the difference between him and Vegeta? *He knows his place in a fight*. He knew he couldn’t beat Cell, so he gave the torch Gohan. Yeah, giving a Senzu Bean was a stupid mistake, but he knew that was the only way Gohan would unlock his true potential. Hell, it didn’t go the way Goku wanted it to but he still transformed. Vegeta thinks he’s the shit at all times. And while confidence is good, this is what leads to his downfall in *every single saga*. He thinks he can outclass Goku, someone he’s never even MET until their first battle and ends up having a much harder time. Goku was WAY stronger than Vegeta thought. He’s so pissed off at the fact that someone is better than him that he tries blowing up the Earth. He gets defeated by someone stronger than him (Goku), and people weaker than him (Krillin, Gohan, Yajierobe). He literally ASKS Zarbon and Freeza to transform, and when they do, his shit gets stomped in. Let’s face it, what memorable moment did Vegeta have against Freeza other than him dying? None. Krillin sliced off his tail. Gohan put up a good fight against his second form & third form. Don’t get me started Piccolo, holding his own and actually winning. He let’s Cell transform, and got smacked like Trunks told him many times. Then when Trunks dies, he blames it on Goku despite the fact that there was no other way to save Earth. Goku yes, could have destroyed him in SSJ3, but it was a matter of Vegeta’s endless pride. It’s only when Vegeta realizes that it’s his fault that Buu is alive, the goes out to fight him. And again his pride takes over when he’s just too damn stubborn to fuse. Goku has to BEG him to do it. Vegebul has been so prominent in ALL of Super’s manga, and there’s literally been little to no Gochi. When’s the last time we saw Chichi? Gohan? Goten? Yes, the arc is focused on _Trunks_, but who’s body got stolen? Goku’s.
